Orlando, FL – Verde Construction Managers has been awarded the contract to construct 4 2-story dormitories and a multipurpose facility for a total of approx 40,000 sf as well as a recreation area with gazebos for outdoor activities. The multipurpose facility will include a stage, a kitchen for a cooking school and flexible fellowship hall that can be used for an array of activities.
The project is expected to start in October 2011 and finish in April 2012. Located in Jacksonville, the facilities will provide a stable environment for a transitional introduction into the post-incarceration life for many current inmates.
Studies have proven that providing former inmates with the knowledge and skills to reenter society as a productive citizen has decreased a percentage in re-incarceration in turn lowering the costs to taxpayers.
